In an instance our life can be taken away.
American actor Paul Walker, who is best known for starring in the collection of the movies Fast and Furious' lost his life at the young age of 40 (September 12, 1973 – November 30, 2013). Walker had a very bright future, premiering in 30 movies with more in the making, winning 5 awards and appearances in music videos and TV shows. Death is tragic and has no prejudice. Your race, tax bracket, color, gender, age and nothing on this earth will be able to keep you from the grips of death. Death can be a frightening reality for those who are unsure of what their future holds.
Today, I attended a service in memory of a close friends mother, and we thanked the Lord that she is now in the care of our Father in Heaven. She was not financially stable but was very rich in faith and even was of encouragement to this very day.
For the believer, absence from the body means to be present with our Creator. Yet to the unbeliever, there lies no hope. Take a moment to reflect on your life, re-evaluate your priorities and your relationship with God. Does He know you by name? Are you hot, cold or lukewarm? On judgment day will you hear well done, good and faithful servant or away from me evil doer, I never knew you?
If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the
Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
A good name is better than fine perfume, and the day of death better than the day of birth.
The LORD cares deeply when his loved ones die.
