I’m not your puppet, you can’t pull your strings on me.
In the song, K. Allico asks the question:
That’s what you want from us right? … I know
(Referring to the ways of the world like poverty, addictions, and criminality.)
His rebuttal to that line is his exclamation of his freedom in Christ. After his rebuttal, he asks the following:
That ain’t what you want from us right?… I know
(Talking to the world about freedom in Christ.)
He tells the world that they can not have a hold of him because God has now severed the strings!
Once we accept Christ into our lives, He becomes our advocate in everything that we do. All things of this world are detached from us when we attach ourselves to Him.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2 NIV)
NOTHING of this world can hold up against God and the things of His good and perfect nature!
